DIS Day at Nelis Dutch Village September 11, 2021 1-4pm

It’s been over two years since the current board took over operations from DIS – and what a two years it’s been! While it’s been a challenging period, the board has been happy to receive a number of donations and encouraging notes. As we’ve mentioned previously, we’re committed to keeping the group (and in particular the magazine) going as long as possible. We’re also excited about the prospect of a get-together in September – see the details below. We are looking for a few volunteers to help us work this event so contact us via our contact page, or call 616-202-2756 and leave your name and number. We look forward to seeing you there!
We will be hosting another DIS Day at Nelis’ Dutch Village in Holland, Michigan on Saturday, September 11 from 1-4pm. While we know that this is not close to all of our members, we know that there are quite a few within driving distance of West Michigan. With the reality of COVID hanging over us, we do not anticipate a mass meeting. However, Dutch Village provides a wonderful location to invite others to come and experience a bit of our heritage (and food!) DIS Members should check in at the designated tent near the large flagpole between Dutch Village and the Holland Town Center outlet mall to receive a bracelet for free entry. Please note that free admission is only for the immediate household of the DIS member. Other family members must be DIS members BEFORE attending the event to get free admission – membership will not be offered onsite. Please take this as an encouragement to have friends/family join before the picnic. We also encourage everyone attending the event to enjoy the park but also patronize the shops and restaurant at Dutch Village as a way to say ‘thank you’ for allowing a place for us to gather. There are plenty of Dutch goodies and import items to enjoy!
